When we talk about Lisinopril dosage we mean the amount of Lisinopril prescribed by your doctor that you should take at a particular given time interval.

Lisinopril is available in various dosage amounts and the Lisinopril dosage your doctor gives you is dependant on your condition. The particular dosage that your doctor prescribes will be based on his diagnosis of your condition and the level of intervention required.

Lisinopril is an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor or ACE Inhibitor for short. Lisinopril inhibits the production of the enzyme which produces the chemical that causes most of the arteries to contract. Contraction of the arteries restricts blood flow.  Taking Lisinopril causes a relaxing of the arteries which increases blood flow.

Starting Dose

The starting Lisinopril dosage for high blood pressure is 10 mg. The usual dose is between 20 mg to 40 mg per day
